This weekend is the highly anticipated/dreaded prom night! I’ve come to the conclusion that people either love or hate it. Most girls love the chance to get all glamoured up, but most guys hate every minute of it. Most couples go out and spend so much money on their outfits, rides, meal, etc. I think the night is pretty expensive to prepare for, but I think it turns out to be pretty enjoyable and worth the money. Honestly, I’m looking forward to the long day.
My saturday will start off by attending the annual pancake breakfast hosted by the fire department with my date, her family, and my family. After that my date is going to get her hair and makeup done and that will take a couple of hours. A little later on in the afternoon we get all dressed up and head out for our long day. That afternoon, we take our pictures (which can get pretty boring)! Around 4 or so we are heading out to etown with another couple to eat kansai, my favorite restaurant. Once we get back, we head straught to prom walk-in.
The night begins as we walk out on the gym floor and get our names announced. As I am typing this, i’ve been thinking about the long day and its made me pretty excited, especially to eat! Hopefully next week I can write a post to let you know how it went! Have a good weekend.
You baseball fans out there probably know about how hot of a start the Atlanta Braves are off to. They are 13-2 and have the best record in all of major league baseball. Our pitchers are pitching well and several players throughout the lineup are on fire! Justin Upton has 9 home runs through 15 games and leading by 2 home runs. Evan Gattis is only playing because our starting catcher is injured and is 6th in the mlb in home runs. Jason Heyward is my favorite player on the braves, but he has gotten off to a slow start. His current average is a low .115, the lowest on our roster. The braves are my favorite team and I always enjoy watching them play. However, this season I’m enjoying them more than ever!
Our pitching staff has been pretty dominating as well. Paul Maholm is 3-0 and hasn’t gave up a single run all season! Now that’s impressive. Tim Hudson may be getting up there in age but his stats beg to differ. He is 2-0 with an ERA (Earned Run Average) under 3, which is very impressive. Kris Medlen is probably my favorite pitcher on the team. He is pitching well this season along with Mike minor and Julio Teheran. Our bullpen has been good this year as well.
All of the players I have named are very big pieces to the success of the braves so far this season. It has been a team effort, but it is early in the season. I hope we can play this good all season, but I know it would be tough and exhausting. I hope we play this well come October when the postseason begins, and go on to win the world series! Go Braves!
We are starting to dig into the heart of the baseball season and it isn’t going as well as planned. We just got back from a tournament in Florida where we finished undefeated, but since we have returned we have fell off. Its something to do with being in Kentucky I swear.
Since returning we have faced two district opponents. On Tuesday we faced Adair county and jumped out on them with a big lead. The later the innings the closer the game became. We got to the last inning up 12-8 and fell apart. They went on to score 8 runs and defeated us 16-12. It was a rough night on the diamond.
The following night we faced our cross town rival and it didn’t go over so well either. They jumped out on top and never looked back. We never put up a big enough fight to battle back. It was a tough night and I hated to see my team perform that way. We went out the next day and practiced like we had something to prove. We are scheduled to play tomorrow morning and I hope my team responds to the challenge our coaches have presented to us.
